create a delicious porridge. You can then pan-cook it or form into dumplings
('dango') for tasty treats for you baby.

Rice Gruel “Okayu”
Mix hot water with the contents of the packet in a pan/bowl with a lid and stir for approximately 2-3 min. Add the lid and then steam as required.
Smooth foods stage: Combine 4-5 Tablespoons of hot water for each Tablespoon of Rice Gruel “Okayu” mixture. Early chewing stage: Combine 3-4 Tablespoons of hot water for each Tablespoon of Rice Gruel “Okayu” mixture. Advanced chewing stage: Combine 2 Tablespoons of hot water for each Tablespoon of Rice Gruel “Okayu” mixture
Note: 1 Tablespoon of Okayu mixture is approx. 4g
Simple Serving Suggestions
Smooth foods stage – Milk Risotto Ingredients Wakodo Rice Gruel “Okayu” – 1 Tblspn. Wakodo Re-bens Milk Hai Hai (Baby formula) – 1 1/2 Tblspn. Hot water – 30ml
Instructions Add the hot water to the Okayu, stir, then add the Hai hai milk solution and stir till mixed, serve.
Early chewing stage – Rice Pudding Ingredients Wakodo Rice Gruel “Okayu” – 2 Tblspn. Wakodo Pudding – 1 sachet Boiling water – 60ml
Instructions Add the boiling water to the contents of the Pudding sachet. Then add the Rice Gruel “Okayu” sachet contents and stir thoroughly. Pour into a mould, allow to cool, then refrigerate until hardened.
Advanced chewing stage – Monjayaki with Natto [Japanese savoury pancake with Fermented Soybeans] Ingredients Wakodo Rice Gruel “Okayu” – 2 Tblspn. Natto – 10g Katsuo Tuna flakes – to season Green Seaweed – to season Hot water – 45ml
Instructions Mix the Okayu with the hot water, then add the Natto, Katsuo tuna flakes and the seaweed to the mixture and stir thoroughly. Cook in a frypan on a medium heat.
